Is a date considered to be "lame" if it ends by 10/10:30?

I recently met up with a woman for a coffee date and would like to go out on a real date with her. I've never been a good dater, so I'm a little rough in the beginning with this kind of stuff. If I just take her out to dinner and call it a night afterwards, does it look kind of lame? I would say go for the dinner/movie combo, but because it's only a 1st/2nd date, I'd be a little apprehensive because I'm not sure if I should or shouldn't make a move (hand holding or arm around her) on her during the movies. Would it look kind of lame if we just went out to eat and called it a night afterwards?
